Capsule: Novol Cluster Stargoods is a premium provider of Remanufactured Space transports and fighter craft (for more information consult page 255 of the STAR WARS rule book second edition Revised and Expanded). NCS developed this SoroSuub variant taking advantage of an unusual opportunity. The corporation had been collecting fixed laser cannons while waiting for its new certification. Many of these cannons came from Ghtroc ships that were upgraded to turreted weapons at the dealership and were in new condition. NCS had just received certification to remanufacture the Ghtroc 580, 720, and Cargo Empress class freighters when Ghtroc Industries suffered financial difficulties that resulted in the company’s demise. NCS purchased directly from Ghtroc industries approximately 30,000 New Double Laser Cannon modules at liquidated prices to help Ghtroc resolve its uncontrollable debt. The sale did little to save the failing company but managed to leave NCS in an awkward position. Novol had thousands of gun emplacements and no future market for them. The Novol engineers quickly developed a conversion kit for the SoroSuub Nestt freighter. The Conversion kit allows the fixed Ghtroc double laser cannon to be mounted behind the cockpit of the Nestt. The Cannon is powered by 10 backup batteries mounted in the upper forward crawlspaces. The kit can be purchased separately for 53,000 credits or installed for 57,000 credits by Novol technicians. One of the other benefits of having 10 backup batteries is that this ship can run silent for 5 hours without life support failing. This benefit is not flaunted by NCS in fear that the empire will shut the program down. Game Notes: The double laser cannons will be discharged after being fired 60 times continuously with the shields on and 120 times with the shields off. The cannons recharge at a rate of one shot per four rounds with the shields up and at a rate of one shot per two rounds with the shields off.
